UduTech is a distributed GPU AI computing company solving the sovereign AI problem for Africa, the Global South, and underserved USA markets. We have deployed physical GPUs for the World Bank, Gates Foundation and several national governments and provided the neocloud platform for access and easy distribution.
Why we Invested:
Africa's AI ambitions have been quietly capped by a hardware problem. GPU compute here costs 30x more relative to purchasing power than in the US or Europe, access delays of one to two weeks are common, and data sovereignty laws mean governments and banks can't simply route sensitive workloads through foreign clouds. Africa's AI compute market is projected to reach $2.4B annually by 2028, yet more than two-thirds of the continent's data centre capacity sits in South Africa alone, leaving most of the continent underserved.
UduTech, founded by Alexander Tsado, the engineer who built NVIDIA's GPU cloud business, is Africa's only live GPU cloud with real institutional traction today. It's already cash-flow positive, a rare thing at seed stage. We saw a founder with the exact pedigree to build sovereign compute infrastructure for the continent, at the moment African governments are actively legislating for it.
The Founder:
Alex Tsado has championed initiatives making AI cheaper and accessible for innovators worldwide. He deployed the first Nvidia AI GPUs to the largest cloud providers globally, and now focuses on putting Africa on the AI innovation table. He currently works with key African governments to operationalize their AI strategies and has launched the Africa GPU Hub platform where Africans can rent GPUs for their ambitious AI projects.
