Clarrio is Powering the Circulatory System of Real-World Evidence
What they do:
Clarrio is an AI-enabled, fully interoperable real-world data platform designed to provide continuous, longitudinal visibility into patients with chronic diseases beyond clinical settings. The platform aggregates multimodal data including physiological, behavioral, environmental, and patient-reported inputs into a unified, interoperable system that integrates seamlessly with existing healthcare infrastructures.
By structuring this data over time, Clarrio enables the identification of patterns, trends, and cohort-level correlations, supporting a deeper understanding of disease trajectories, patient experience, and real-world outcomes. This makes it particularly valuable for healthcare providers and pharmaceutical companies seeking to generate real-world evidence, optimize patient support programs, and better understand population-level dynamics in an observational, non-interventional framework.
Why we invested:
The continent has the highest epilepsy prevalence globally (2–3% vs. 0.5–1% elsewhere), yet African patient populations are dramatically underrepresented in clinical trials and real-world evidence datasets. Clarrio is building proprietary, high-resolution datasets from these populations and is increasingly valuable to global pharmaceutical companies seeking diverse real-world evidence for regulatory submissions. The team combines 30+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience from Merck with AI and machine learning expertise from InstaDeep, and a Microsoft partnership that provides access to hospital procurement channels across the GCC.
