More for All

What they do:

Baskett is a supply chain and finance platform connecting farmers, suppliers, and buyers across Nigeria’s protein and grain markets. They enable efficient production and trade, ensuring farmers earn more while buyers access consistent, high-quality supply. By rebuilding trust, liquidity, and coordination across the agricultural value chain, Baskett is shaping a more inclusive and resilient food economy for Africa’s future.

Why we Invested:

Nigeria’s $40B protein and grain economy is constrained by fragmented supply chains and limited access to working capital for farmers. Baskett targets the $3.5B smallholder segment by providing feed financing and guaranteed offtake, enabling farmers to scale production while ensuring buyers access consistent supply. The model generates revenue through both financing and trading margins while recycling working capital, creating capital-efficient growth. askett’s embedded finance approach positions it to become critical infrastructure for Africa’s food systems.

The Founder:

Daniel Afolayan is a Y Combinator alumnus and repeat founder with deep experience in agriculture, supply chains, and market systems in Nigeria. He previously built Sendme, a YC-backed venture that digitized fresh food distribution across multiple cities. At Baskett, Daniel brings years of on-the-ground experience working with farmers, suppliers, and buyers to solve the structural inefficiencies that keep African food systems fragmented. His work is driven by a clear vision to build Africa’s most trusted and efficient agricultural supply chain.
